How long have you been studying holistic medicine?
I have been studying for 16 years. My daughter had health issues, and I had to address them. I found that herbal medicines and other sources of holistic health care were the most helpful. I have been a massage therapist with an active practice for the past three years.
Are people buying more
organic skin care products
because they are better quality?
My guess is that people are becoming more educated on the benefits of using organic vitamins, food, medicine, and skin care products because they are more readily available, and more affordable. Organic products of all types are now the preference of many people.

Have you used non organic massage therapy oils, lotions, and creams in the past?
Yes. When I was a high school student, when I didn’t know any better. But really, I have been chemically phobic for a long time.
Why do you prefer using organic massage creams and oils on clients?
There are many chemicals in traditional
massage creams and oils
that do not belong on a person’s body. With organic skin care products, the ingredients come mainly from nature. For example, petroleum-based lotions are not good for every consumer. This type of skin care product tends to dry out quickly, and needs to be reapplied. Therefore, it is not the best substance to hydrate skin. Some people do not like the texture of petroleum based skin care products, or the residue it leaves on the skin, or they have allergic reactions to petroleum. So, organic skin care products provide an alternative.

What other sorts of chemicals are found in natural skin care products?
There are many chemicals that are ingredients in skin care products that are thought to be harmful. One such ingredient is Propylene glycol, a potential carcinogen, and a skin irritant for some. Though Propylene glycol has been defined as neither by the Food and Drug Administration, some find it suspect. The consumer may find propylene glycol in some natural skin care products, but not in organic or mostly
organic skin care products
.
How does the consumer decide upon what is best to buy when considering organic skin care products?
Most
organic skin care products
offer the consumer free samples, so go ahead and try different products. Skin sensitivities and allergies are a problem for some people, so organic skincare could be the answer. Look at the ingredients before buying. One rule of thumb is if you know what most of the ingredients are, it’s a good sign.
Where would you search for organic skin care products?
Health food stores and spas are a good place to look instead of the traditional pharmacy. High quality organic skin care products are mostly sold through spas.
Banner Therapy
is an excellent source of organic and mostly organic skin care products, and the prices are right.
Are organic skin care products affordable these days?
Yes, there are plenty of affordable choices in
organic skin care products
. There’s no need to spend that much more money or even go to the spa. Purchase on the web and have an organic skincare regime delivered to your door. And, order in half gallon containers to save even more money.
Why do you use organic massage therapy oils in your practice?
Organic skin care products
are effective in a gentle way. They help ensure health and balance during client sessions, which is what they are seeking.
Organic massage creams and oils
are my main choice over chemical products in the context of my practice because there is the possibility of negative effects for some clients. With organic massage creams and oils, there is hardly a thought about possibly aggravating a person’s sensitive skin or allergies. Finally, organic products are better for our environments and our own bodies -- and this is important to my daughter and me.
